A family of products
The term generally refers to hyaluronic acid products injected in small deposits to improve hydration and the appearance of the skin. Several manufacturers offer them; the product used in the practice is discussed during consultation.
When it may be appropriate
The clearest indication is skin that lacks suppleness or looks tired while facial shape remains balanced. If the main concern is a hollow, a skinbooster is unlikely to help, and using more will not turn it into a volumising filler.
Why series are often mentioned
The surface changes slowly. Several sessions make it possible to see whether the skin responds, and then to stop. A series sold in advance, with no room for revision, looks more like a package than like follow-up.
