What is the treatment for?
It may be considered to improve texture and the overall appearance of uneven, tired-looking or mildly lax skin, using a gradual approach. It does not replace treatment intended to address volume loss or pigmentation.
For active acne or rosacea, a combination with IPL is often proposed: IPL acts on redness and the visible inflammatory component, ProDeep on skin quality and texture. The order and pacing of sessions are decided in consultation.
Who is it for?
For someone whose skin concern is suited to this device after examination. Tanning, skin type, a history of cold sores and skin sensitivity are taken into account.
A skin infection, pregnancy or a photosensitising treatment may lead to postponing the session.
Areas concerned
Face, neck and décolletage, depending on the protocol chosen. The neck and décolletage have thinner skin: the setting is adapted and is not identical to that of the face.
How a session generally unfolds
The area is cleaned and prepared, a numbing cream may be applied, the eyes are protected if necessary, then the skin is treated with the suitable setting. A sensation of heat is usual.
The number of sessions depends on the skin’s response. A series is sometimes discussed, with no number imposed in advance.
What kind of result
A gradual improvement in skin quality may be observed. It remains individual and not guaranteed.
How it changes over time
Temporary redness is common and may last from a few hours to a few days. The result is assessed later, once the skin has recovered.
Possible after-effects
Redness, tenderness, dryness, a feeling of tight skin. More rarely, pigmentation or prolonged irritation. Sun instructions are essential.
General precautions
Avoid sun, irritating active ingredients and scrubs during recovery. Use a simple moisturiser and follow the aftercare advice. Do not tan before or after sessions.
Questions
Can it be combined with IPL?
Yes. For active acne or rosacea, an IPL and ProDeep combination is often discussed. It is not a single protocol: the choice and pacing depend on examination.
What is the difference from the CO2 laser?
They are two distinct devices with different uses and recovery profiles. The choice is made during consultation, according to the concern and the skin.
Are several sessions needed?
It is often discussed for work on skin quality, but the number is not set in advance. It depends on the response observed.
